Well Miss Ruggiero,
It seems as if your blog site has really sparked an interest. As it should - you doing this is fantastic - all you Olympians, except for the curling - are great. You're inspirations to us all and the young ones. Keep up the great work and I hope you clobber the Canadians... Cary

Dear Ms. Ruggiero,
You are a hockey goddess. You are our hero. Thanks for bringing so much excitement to the game of ice hockey -- from the games you played against Princeton at Hobey Baker Rink to rinks at Nagano, Salt Lake, and now Torino 2006.

Here's to your continued successes!

Angela, I'm one of the pioneers of women's hockey, having played in goal for Colby College in the mid 1970s. It is so rewarding to see the level of play that you and your teammates have brought women's hockey to. We dreamed of going to the Olympics, but YOU guys made it happen!

Many thanks and GO USA!

I nearly died today watching that game! What a SWEET victory against Finland! And one of my favorite guys was there watching (Scott Gomez - #23 of the NJ Devils!)

Your goal was freaking fantastic! I nearly threw my chihuahua at the TV in excitement!

Go GET 'EM GIRL! Canada is nothing .. Canada is Canadian Bacon and cheap electronics.. We ARE USA! WE ARE GOLD ALL THE WAY!!

When you picked up the puck by the goal line, scored tied 3-3, and started the rush, I hollered "coast to coast". Don't think you heard me in Torino, but you saw the seam in the "D" and carried that puck with nothing short of national pride. That one end to end skate, head up, determined to put the US ahead, captured the Olympic spirit and why we are clustered around our TVs every four years.

On behalf of the 245 million Americans who either are your fans, or should be, thanks.

what a great game today against Finland! it was amazing to see you all come back in the 3rd period!! I played ice hockey in middle school and high school (and on and off in college) and had the great opportunity to meet/be coached by some of your fellow Olympians in various camps - like Cammi, and AJ(I actually got to try on her Gold Medal the summer after the Nagano games!) - as well as being coached by Ben Smith (and Katey Stone). Being from the Boston area, I also went to quite a number of your Harvard games in the past few years. I had a dream to play in the olympics - although that didnt happen, it is great to see you and your teammates doing so well. Good Luck against Sweden and hope to see you bring home the gold against Canada!

My husband and I stayed up late (I recorded y’all’s match vs. Finland as we were both at work) and we are SO glad we did!!! You had 2 AWESOME goals, too!! When it was 3-1, we felt a bit antsy..and then came the power plays….and there we were, 3-2…then 3-3….Oh, it was nerve-wracking!!! You guys really kept pushing hard and….WOW! I thought pulling ahead 4-3 was pretty good. But SEVEN?? I’m glad Krissy got one. She really REALLY worked hard to get it. Whew…I’m so tired right now!!!!  Hahaha..Way to make our late night worth it!! Let’s not pull the same cardiac attack vs. Switzerland, k?

Wow, I wish we’d have had hockey back in my small southern town when I was young. I’ve always enjoyed watching, and I especially love watching you all play.

GO USA!!!

Thanks for all you are doing for little girls (and big girls still holding on to their little girl dreams!) all around the world!

Best wishest to the team. Great Job. Been a hockey fan for years and I believe that the girls actually play a better game. I was a member of the 84 Olympic Staff in LA and I have never forgotten the thrill of seeing our flag raised above the others and hearing our nation anthem being played. I know we have some good tuff teams to play but I know team USA will be up to it. God's speed! I have requested a women's hockey pin for my pin collection.
