Back to Business

I am so excited to get back to coaching for a few weeks this summer! I am heading to Boston this week for the Angela Ruggiero Chowder Cup, where 36 teams from all over the USA and Canada will compete for the top honor and take home the Chowder Cup! My teammates Courtney Kennedy as well as Katie King have agreed to stop by Sat evening to sign autographs with me. I wish all the teams the best of luck! Check out my link to the chowder cup if you are interested in the tournament for the future.
You would think that after 11 years of training in Lake Placid that I would be sick of the place....but the opposite is true! I really miss the USA Olympic training facility in upstate New York, where the USA Women's Team is headquartered. The Under-22 series between the USA and Canada will be there this summer, as well as the USA National festival, where over 40 women ages 22 and under will battle it out for a spot on the final roster. My Harvard Coach Katey Stone will be the Head coach, while my USA Teammate Katie King will be one of the assistants.
I am too old to compete this summer, but I will be in Lake Placid the week before coaching the first annual CHE "Just for Girls" Hockey School! We are bringing in Team USA Stars Julie Chu, Courtney Kennedy, Chanda Gunn, as well as a few Olympic Canadians and a few NCAA stars August 12-16. It should be a great week for everyone...over a hundred girls will experience first hand, the training grounds of the "Miracle on Ice" team as well as your very own USA Olympic Women's Team! We are filled for this year, but check out the link for next summer! This is going to be the best girls’ camp in the USA! We plan on expanding next summer, so let us know (via the links page) if you want us to come to your hometown.
Finally, my summer is ending in my hometown! De-Troit! I am heading back home to kiss our big Great Danes, my family and to run the Angela Ruggiero Girl's/Women's Hockey School in Ann Arbor, MI at the University of Michigan August 20-24. There is still room if you are ready to rock it for a week with me! Call Craig Wotta at the U. of Michigan of you have specific questions about the camp 734-647-7764. We are going to have a lot of fun at this camp, as well as learning the basics of the best game on earth.
That's my busy schedule...Hopefully I catch some of you guys on the road. Make sure you say hi to me!
Take Care! Angela

Hi Angie! We really enjoyed spending time with you and your mom this week. After you left my girls said they wish you lived closer to us. Good luck with your busy schedule this summer. We'll keep in touch and plan on having our cousins reunion in December. Take care.
Love Cherice
