Long Island lives on "The Apprentice!"

In a - let's just call it "bizarre" - coincidence, no fewer than four contestants with Long Island connections will appear on the new Los Angeles-based edition of NBC's "The Apprentice," bowing Jan. 7 in a 90-minute special. A record for a reality show? Until further notification, let's say "yes."

Along with a first names and a few biographical details, NBC on Wednesday confirmed that the contestants are "Jenn," "Martin," and "Marisa." A fourth contestant, Angela Ruggiero - a former three-time medalist with the U.S. Olympic hockey team - had been announced earlier. A native of Los Angeles, she now lives in Oyster Bay.

Here's what we know about the others:

Martin Clark, now an Atlanta-based attorney, was born in Amityville and graduated from Adelphi University. Jenn Hoffman, a publicist from Phoenix, grew up in Huntington. Finally, Florida attorney Marisa - no last name could be learned and NBC wasn't offering - grew up on Long Island (nor would NBC identify the town).

And as for the show itself, here's the big twist: This time around, the contestants on the winning team will get to live in a mansion. But contestants on the losing team will have to sleep outside in tents in the mansion's backyard with outdoor showers and portable toilets.
