United States vs. Canada Gold-Medal Game to Air on ESPNU World Championship Showdown to Air in United States on Tape-Delay Basis

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- USA Hockey today announced an agreement with ESPNU to broadcast on a tape-delay basis tonight’s United States vs. Canada Gold Medal final of the 2007 International Ice Hockey Federation Women’s World Championship.

Airtimes for the 10th Gold Medal showdown between Team USA and its Canadian rivals are as follows (all times are EDT): April 11 at 4:30 p.m., April 12 at 7:30 p.m. and April 17 at 8 p.m.

Team USA is the defending world champion, winning its first-ever gold medal at the event on April 9, 2005, via a 1-0 shootout victory over Canada.

NOTES: The game will be broadcast live tonight throughout Canada on TSN, with a million viewers expected ... The Qualifying Round game between the United States and Canada on Saturday (April 7) boasted the largest crowd ever to watch a women’s hockey game (15,003). Canada won that game, 5-4, in a shootout ... Team USA is making its 10th Gold Medal game appearance ... The United States has won one gold medal and eight silvers in the nine previous IIHF Women’s World Championships.
